This Privacy Policy explains how Lee Ka Yip (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Expense Claimer mobile application (“App”).

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information that you provide in the App:

  • Receipt images you scan or upload.

  • Receipt details such as merchant name, date, time, total amount, tax, category, and notes.

  • Claim information, such as claim titles, selected receipts, and export history.

  • App settings, such as currency, OCR language, default template, and categories.

  • Optional account or sync data if cloud backup or sign-in is added in the future.

2. How We Use Information

We use this information to:

  • Scan and process receipts.

  • Extract receipt details using OCR.

  • Let you review, edit, save, and organize receipts.

  • Create and export expense claims.

  • Store your preferences and settings.

  • Improve app performance and fix issues.

3. OCR and Image Processing

The App may use OCR or AI-based processing to read text from receipt images. This processing is used only to provide app features such as receipt extraction and expense claim creation. OCR results may not always be accurate, so you should always review the data before using it for reimbursement or bookkeeping.Memory+1

4. Data Storage

By default, your receipt data may be stored locally on your device. If future cloud backup, sync, or account features are added, some data may also be stored securely in cloud services. We are not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, deletion, reinstalling the App, or other events outside our control.

5. Camera and Photos

If you choose to scan a receipt, the App may request access to your camera or photo library. These permissions are used only for receipt capture and importing receipt images. We do not use camera or photo access for unrelated purposes.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only:

  • With service providers that help us operate the App.

  • If required by law.

  • To protect the security of the App, our users, or our rights.

7. Analytics and Crash Data

We may use analytics or crash-reporting tools to understand app usage and fix technical issues. These tools may collect non-personal technical data such as app version, device model, and crash logs.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children without adult supervision. If a child’s receipt or expense information is entered, it should be done by a parent, guardian, or authorized adult user.

9. Your Choices

You may:

  • Delete receipts manually inside the App, if supported.

  • Remove claims and stored records from the App.

  • Turn off camera or photo permissions in your device settings.

  • Contact us to request deletion of data, subject to technical and legal limits.

10. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the App or as required by law. If you delete your data or stop using the App, we will remove or stop using it where technically possible.

11. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Please keep your device and account access secure.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the Effective Date above. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
